ผู้สร้างผลงานจิตรกรรมและผลงานภาพพิมพ์แกะไม้ โดยออกจากเงื่อนไขของการเป็นภาพพิมพ์ ผู้ที่ทำงานอย่างไม่มีวันหยุด

วีรพงษ์มีการแสดงผลงานทั้งในและต่างประเทศอย่างสม่ำเสมอเคยได้รับรางวัลต่างๆ เช่น รางวัลเหรียญทอง ประเภทภาพพิมพ์ การแสดงศิลปกรรมแห่งชาติ ครั้งที่ 51, เหรียญเงิน การแสดงศิลปกรรมแห่งชาติ ครั้งที่54,เหรียญทองแดง การแสดงศิลปกรรม แห่งชาติ ครั้งที่ 52 ครั้งที่ 53 และครั้งที่ 55 ,รางวัล Honorable Mentions, 10^th International Biennial Engraving "Josep de Ribera" Xativa, Spain

และการแสดงผลงานดี่ยว เกียรติจิตรกร Painter Prestige ณ หอศิลปแห่งชาติ ผลงานของวีรพงษ์นั้นจะผันเปลี่ยนไปตามช่วงเวลาซึ่งเดินไปพร้อมกับประสบการณ์ และชีวิตโดยไม่ยึดในรูปแบบใดรูปแบบหนึ่งดังนั้นผลงานจึงเป็นตัวสะท้อนถึงความคิด อารมณ์ความรู้สึกและเรื่องราวต่างๆที่เข้ามาในชีวิตในขณะที่สร้างผลงานนั้นๆขึ้นมา

“ผมต้องการใช้ผลงานจิตรกรรมเป็นสื่อแสดงออกถึงปรากฏการณ์แห่งความรู้สึกของตนเองที่เกิดจากการรับรู้สิ่งต่างๆรอบตัวในชีวิตทั้งในอดีตและปัจจุบันผสมผสานจิตนาการผูกโยงเรื่องราวบันทึกเป็นร่องรอยของเหตุการณ์ปัจจุบันบรรจุรวมสิ่งต่างๆที่ปรากฏขึ้นในใจขณะสร้างผลงานโดยไม่มีการกำหนดรูปแบบล่วงหน้า วัตถุในผลงานมุ่งสะท้อนเรื่องราวในสังคม และค่านิยมในเรื่องคุณค่าของสิ่งต่างๆที่อยู่ภายใต้ข้อจำกัดและมาตรฐานของสังคม โดยนำมาเรียงร้อยในองค์ประกอบที่ก่อให้เกิดเรื่องราวใหม่ เปรียบเหมือนภาพบันทึกประวัติศาสตร์ของปัจจุบันขณะ ผมมีความมุ่งหมายในการค้นหาคุณค่าที่แท้จริงที่ซ่อนอยู่ภายในสิ่งต่างๆ โดยใช้การสร้างผลงาน เพื่อให้เข้าใจในสุนทรียภาพแห่งศิลปะและคุณค่าที่แท้จริงของชีวิต”

Artist statement

I want to use paintings as a way of expressing my own feelings about the perception of things around me in my past and present life and Combination imagination create story. Objects in the works reflect the story in society and Question in meaning and belief in the value of things under the limits and standards of society. By compiling elements that generate new stories as the Historical images of the present moment. I aim use the creation of work to find true value hidden within things.To understand the aesthetics of art and the true value of life.
